Keep your phone cool while you play
Mobile gaming has a heat problem. Push a phone with a demanding game and it gets hot, the battery drops fast, and performance throttles right when you need it. A few settings fix most of this.
Start with the frame rate. Many games default to 60fps, but for arcade and strategy titles 30fps looks fine and runs far cooler. The difference in battery life is dramatic.
Lower the brightness one notch below what feels natural indoors. The screen is usually the biggest drain, and your eyes adjust within a minute.
Close background apps before a session. Even a few idle apps compete for resources and heat things up. On older phones this alone can smooth out stutters.
Finally, take a break when the phone feels warm. Heat is the main thing that shortens a battery's life over the years, and a game is never worth that trade.
